Senior Associate

Lindsay, while originally from Florida, spent most of her childhood in Upstate South Carolina. She loved it so much that she stayed in the area for college and graduate school. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Clemson in 2010 (with a minor in Spanish Languages), and then received a Master's from Clemson in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

She now lives in Greenville with her husband, her three cats, and newborn daughter. In her spare time, Lindsay likes to read, practice yoga, and swim. She also takes a particular interest in mindfulness, and loves being outdoors, where she feels most able to appreciate herself and her surroundings. Lindsay is also passionate about counseling research, and has had the opportunity to present her work at the South Carolina Counseling Association's annual conference.

She has extensive experience working in clinical settings as well as doing advocacy for children in the Upstate.

Areas of clinical focus: adolescents and young adults; anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, women’s issues, relationship dynamics, gender/sexuality. LGBTQIA+ affirming!

Lindsay is a rostered provider of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

calvin Armerding, ma, lpc-S

Senior Associate

Calvin grew up in Albuquerque, NM, but moved to Travelers Rest in 2006 while attending Furman University. He graduated from Furman with Bachelors degrees in both English and Psychology in 2010. He then moved back west and earned a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary in 2012. Soon after graduating, Calvin's love of Upstate South Carolina brought him back to where he now calls home. He lives in Travelers Rest with family.

Calvin loves to write and play music, fly fish, play sports, and travel. He is trying his hand at growing vegetables at home. Calvin also is passionate about teaching counseling principles, and has had the privilege of being a guest lecturer at Furman University and Richmont Graduate University. He also has been able to teach counseling strategies and techniques the past four years at the annual conference for the South Carolina Society of Adlerian Psychology in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Areas of clinical focus: young adults, depression, anxiety, anger management, parent education, identity development

KATIVA STOUT, M.ED., LPC*

Kativa, while originally from Massachusetts, spent most of her childhood in Bluffton, South Carolina. She graduated from Limestone University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Healthcare Administration. She then received her Master of Education/Education Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University in 2020.

Kativa has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She also has worked in residential and day treatment clinical settings with children and adolescents with social-emotional and behavioral concerns. She also has done advocacy work for children in the Upstate.

In her spare time, Kativa enjoys being outdoors (especially near a body of water), hanging out with friends and family, practicing yoga, playing soccer, and going for walks. She is passionate about teaching others the importance of self-care and building a strong therapeutic alliance. Kativa takes particular interest in working with children and helping them better understand themselves and aiding in finding their voice.

LAWSON METTS, MA, LPC*

Lawson, originally from the Lowcountry, moved to the Upstate for several years and is excited to return home to Beaufort. Lawson received her Bachelors from the University of South Carolina-Beaufort in Human Services in 2015. She then moved to the Upstate and received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gardner- Webb University in 2019.

Lawson has clinical experience working with children and adults; however, she is most passionate about working with children. Lawson first started working as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analyst) therapist which started her love for clinical work with children.

Lawson loves spending time close to the water with her family and dogs. She always looks forward to finding new adventures, especially close to the ocean.
